Bracelet with iridescent white “Biwa” freshwater stick pearls and turquoise facetted roundels
Unique pearl and gemstone jewelry for any occasion
$78.00
White iridescent “Biwa” freshwater stick pearls give a light reactive effect to this gorgeous bracelet. The stick pearls are interlaced with turquoise facetted roundels with a knot in-between each of them. The bracelet is 7 inches long and is closed by a round sterling silver filigree clasp creating an exquisite accent.
The authentic Biwa pearls come from Lake Biwa in Japan where cultivation of pearls have been going on for close to hundred years. But with increasing water pollution the number of available pearls from that region is decreasing. While the term Biwa initially described the freshwater pearls with their unique shapes from that region, today the term is generally used to describe the shape of a pearl.
